Dan Hanessian of Alliance Productions Solutions approached us with this commission. The designers envisioned an oversized sleeping Rip Van Winkle as a centerpiece for the Historic Hudson Valley Winter Wonder Lights Event at Washington Irving's Sunnyside in Tarrytown.
Nino sculpted the reclining figure in Styrofoam and plaster. It was later molded in silicone rubber and cast in fiberglass. If standing, the figure would be over 14' tall. The polychrome-paint finish was expertly applied by our staff of artists.
